Примерно в XIII в. до н. э. на территорию лесостепного междуречья Обь-Иртышья приходят андроновцы, культурные связи с которыми в свое время, видимо, существовали у кротовцев. Обладая более мощной экономикой, андроновцы вытесняют местные племена кротовцев, самусьцев и окуневцев из лесостепной зоны Западной Сибири или ассимилируют. Андроновцы расселяются на огромной территории западносибирской лесостепи.

При раскопках памятников андроновской культуры собран богатый материал: керамика, бронзовые ножи, украшения, многочисленные изделия из камня и кости.

Андроновские сосуды

Андроновцы умели изготавливать из глины очень красивые сосуды с тонкими стенками. Гончарного круга тогда еще не знали, сосуды лепились руками. Узор наносился по сырой глине мелким гребенчатым штампом. По краям сосуда обычно располагались вытянутые треугольники, ниже шел Ряд довольно сложных геометрических фигур и, наконец, последний ряд из мелких треугольников и завитков. Можно удивляться, глядя на такие точно выполненные сложные геометрические фигуры: линии параллельны, орнамент точно вписан в диаметр сосуда. Андроновские сосуды — это настоящие произведения искусства.

Сложный узор не только украшал сосуд, он имел с точки зрения людей того времени и символическое значение. Так, знак креста у многих народов являлся символом солнца с расходящимися лучами, волнообразные линии — знаком воды и т.д.
