Примерно с середины 1933 года, на базе небольшой агробиостанции г. Новосибирска (Нарымская, 3), сформировалась Западносибирская Краевая детская техническая и сельскохозяйственная станция (КДТСХС). В начале 1935 года зоосад состоял из одного живого уголка при маленьком кабинете зоологии детской станции. К 1937 году усилиями работников и детей был приспособлен под зоосад бывший сад "Альгамбра", пополнен состав зверей и птиц, проводилась исследовательская работа. При зоосаде работала зоолаборатория.

История Академгородка

Рабочее название «Академгородок» приобрело мировую известность еще на стадии проектирования и строительства города ученых. По сути, Академгородок сформировал образ Новосибирска как крупного научного и интеллектуального центра. Идея создания на востоке страны научного центра, который мог бы по масштабам и способностям сравниться с известными центрами в европейской части страны, принадлежит академикам М. А. Лаврентьеву, С. А. Христиановичу, С. Л. Соболеву.
